When .VN domain to be explosive?
As of September 2004, 8,103 domain names .VN have been registered. Despite rapid growth, this figure is not corresponding with numbers of enterprises and organizations in Vietnam.

With the goal of developing Internet resource, seminar on Internet resource and new technology was co-organized by Vietnam Internet Center, Asia Pacific Network Information Center and Cisco Company in Hanoi from September 20 to 24.
The seminar was divided into 2 subcommittees: seminar on resource development and seminar on members. In seminar on resource development, experts discuss policies as well as trends to develop domain names (.VN), implementation of Vietnamese domain names, Vietnam Internet transmission network (VNIX)
Reported by VNNIC, in past years, Vietnam has carried out many measures to develop Internet resource such as formation of independent management mechanism of server system of domain names DNS without depending on IXP, successful test of national Internet transmission network, test of providing Vietnamese domain names and proposal of adjusting Internet resource fee to be applied in 2005.
These measures are to meet the demand of Internet resource development and to wait for a boom of domain names(.VN). However, this boom depends on many issues such as awareness of enterprises, Internet infrastructure and favorable environment for registration and solutions of dispute related to domain names, says Bvom.
