Solomon Islands domain to launch
The exclusive international domain name registrar for the Solomon Islands .SB has been appointed. The registration will begin in January 2005.
The administrator of the Solomon Islands .SB ccTLD, Solomon Telekom Company, has appointed TPP Internet Australia as the exclusive international domain name registrar for the domain. TPP will commence registering .SB domains from early January 2005.
TPP Internet’s Managing Director, Peter Shilling, said, “This is an important step in our strategy to provide Australian and overseas businesses with a broad range of domains from the international domain space.”
Solomon Telekom, Manager Information Systems (Internet Services), Mark Flynn, said, “Prior to TPP Internet taking responsibility for this critical role, organisations looking to register their .sb domain names faced lengthy waiting periods.
The announcement strengthens the comprehensive international domain name offering already available to TPP customers due to its expertise gained from operating the Global Corporate Domain Service.
