MYNIC plans to provide the second-level .MY domain name space to the public that will shorten the existing third-level domain name structure, the ccTLD manager said in a statement on May 31.

MYNIC plans to provide the second-level .MY domain name space to the public that will shorten the existing third-level domain name structure, the country code top level domain manager said in a statement on May 31.

This allows for domain names to be simplified; for example, from theedgedaily.com.my to theedgedaily.my.

In view of this, MYNIC and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are inviting Malaysians to submit their comments on a public consultation paper.

The paper entitled «Reintroducing Second Level .MY Domain Name Space» can be found on both the MYNIC (www.mynic.net.my) and MCMC (www.mcmc.gov.my) websites.
