Directi decomes registrar for new .TRAVEL sTLD
DirectI.com was today granted permission to register domains with the recently introduced ‘.travel’ extension.
ICANN accredited registrar DirectI.com was today granted permission to register domains with the recently introduced .TRAVEL extension. DirectI will make the .TRAVEL sTLD available to its network of resellers enabling them to service the rapidly expanding global travel and tourism industry.
“The travel industry has been witnessing a tremendous boom worldwide. We completely support ICANN’s decision for a separate TLD exclusively meant for the travel and tourism sectors. The launch of .TRAVEL will not only boost the industry’s growth rate but also offer a unique alternative to registrants from the saturated .COM and .NET domain name space,” said Bhavin Turakhia, Chairman and CEO, DirectI.
Exclusive to organizations and companies operating in the travel industry or offering tourism-related products and services, the registration procedure for a .TRAVEL domain is a two step process requiring registrants first be authenticated by a formal ‘Authentication Provider’ such as the American Society of Travel Agents.
Now DirectI.com starts accepting pre-applications for .TRAVEL domain name registration. Pre-registration through DirectI.com costs $99 per year.
